Focus Groups

Distinctive of the Netherlands Institute for Law and Governance is a governance approach to legal research. This approach can be used in any subfield of the law. Consequently, NILG research is not limited to a specific subfield of the law.

However, the researchers involved in the NILG obviously do have their own specialism. Using a bottom up approach, several ‘focus groups’ have been established. These consist of researchers of at least two NILG partners, who research the governance dimension of a specific legal topic. The focus groups represent the research areas excels:

●    Family & Law
●    Governance of Identity
●    Standardization, Certification & Accreditation
●    Order & Safety
●    Public Policy and Private Autonomy
●    Scarce Public Rights
●    Social Markets
●    Quality of Legislation
●    Real Estate, Environment and Law
