Family & law

The focus group Family & law focusses on the national research program Family & Law.

The idea of a national research program was born during the first national meeting of experts in the field of family law, that was initiated in September 2011 by the Alliance Family & right (a partnership presided over by the NILG, between the ACFL VU, the Notarial Institute RUG and UCERF UU). The program is aimed at providing more focus and mass to research in the field of family law and at influencing the agenda of the sponsors (NWO, KNAW and ministries). At the second national meeting on 2 February 2012, the first draft of the program was discussed. During this meeting it became clear that in the context of drawing up a national program, major substantive choices needed to be made, indicating priorities in the field of family law research for decades to come. In order to make these choices it was considered desirable to obtain feedback from an external expert with a multidisciplinary profile and a broad perspective on research and research programming.
